In this unusual weight, the clipped reverse of a mid-4th-century Roman centenionalis was inserted. Weighing 2.69 g, this is noticeably too heavy for a semissis, suggesting instead that it may have been intended as a weight for a siliqua. This would align well with the inscription on the inserted coin, as it also appeared on many siliquae of Constantius II, which continued to circulate into the second half of the 4th century.
